Clodagh’s Irish Kitchen Pop Up

Last night I went to the Clodagh McKenna pop up restaurant in Selfridge’s. What a fantastic evening of wonderful Irish food and flavours! There was such a pretty table setting awaiting me with wild flowers, the menu for the evening and the cutest mini loaf of rosemary and wild garlic Irish bread, yum! While I waited for the meal I was served the most delicious concoction of Dingle Gin, Lemon and Thyme Soda. It was such a refreshing and light drink, Clodagh posted the recipe on Instagram a few days ago so check it out here. Apologies for the poor picture, I was half way through guzzling down the lemony goodness when I realised I hadn’t taken a picture! 🙂

Clodagh came out to say a few words before the meal began, it was really inspiring to hear her speak so passionately about the Irish produce and producers. Every plate looked and tasted fantastic, Clodagh and her team did an amazing job in the kitchen. I must admit that the highlight was that delicious bread and butter pudding. Oh Lordy, so so tasty! I had never tasted soda bread ice-cream before, holy moly tis only the bees knees! As I was dining on my own I purchased Clodagh’s latest book ‘Clodagh’s Irish Kitchen’ to keep me company, the recipes for all the dishes served on the night are in the book so I’m looking forward to trying some at home. After dessert Clodagh came over to introduce herself, she was so lovely and welcoming! She even rescued me from my solitude by whisking me over to a table of fellow Irish folk!
