London Bites: Bea’s of Bloomsbury

You may be aware that I am quite the fan of Bea’s of Bloomsbury, I have mentioned it before here and if you follow my Instagram you will see that I visit every so often for a sweet treat! I have visited Bea’s twice in the past month so thought it a good time to add it to my London Bites series!

I think what I like most about it (aside from the sweet treats of course!) is that the atmosphere is very relaxed and informal so you feel comfortable straight away. It’s also a great option for a catch up with friends (as was the case when I visited in early February) or perfect for a special afternoon with a loved one (I visited Saturday with my boyfriend as an anniversary treat)

There is a set menu as such in that you each get a scone (served with jam and clotted cream) a cupcake – a different flavour each, we got a vanilla and lemon one and chocolate one on Saturday. You also each get a mini meringue, three types of brownie (one plain chocolate, one chocolate and peanut butter and one white chocolate blondie) and finally a piece of homemade marshmallow – heavenly clouds of sweet squishiness! The marshmallows were passion fruit flavoured on Saturday and were perfectly sweet yet tangy – so good, definitely a highlight! You can also get some sandwiches if you like – its £19 with or £16 without. There is also a great selection of Jing teas included in the price – I usually go for the Earl Grey but Dave is a fan of the Vanilla tea.

As well as the treats included with the afternoon tea there are loads of other things that you will want to try out (doubtful you will have any room left if you have the afternoon tea!) especially the duffins (doughnut/muffin hybrid) and townies (tart meets brownie). They also have some Easter treats at the moment, I loved the meringue bunnies – too cute!

There was also a gorgeous window display with lots of beautifully decorated cupcakes as well as some more easter bunnies and chicks. definitely worth a visit if you are in London soon 🙂

I am currently planning some St Patrick’s Day recipes so make sure to check back here at the weekend for more details or keep an eye on my Instagram and Facebook accounts. You can also find me on Snapchat, search for Bakemystyle 🙂
